Southport Life Drawing was founded to create a social, supportive and creative life session that people from different art practices, abilities and styles can explore the live figure. After years of attending Life Drawing sessions and groups in other towns and cities I decided it was time to create one in my hometown. If you are looking for a place to explore your drawing and the figure or portrait, you’ve found the right place.
I’m Lauren!
I am an Art and Photography Teacher with 10+ years of delivering workshops and delivering Art, Design and Photography qualifications. My passion for Life Drawing started all the way back in college when I spent many a late afternoon and evening drawing from life. It went on to heavily influence my personal practice exploring the figure and portrait through photography, painting, printing and illustration.
I wanted to start this group to create a space I felt was missing from my local creative scene in Southport which is accessible, social and fun sessions around the figure for local creatives to experiment, develop and enrich their practice, no matter their starting point.
